Tanya is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School Teacher Training Program and her degrees include a BFA and MA from York University. Tanya has been an instructor in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto for 10 years. In January 2012 she taught the first academic dance course to be offered in that Faculty, which consisted of both lectures and studio labs. Tanya is pleased to be pursuing a PhD in Dance Studies at York University. Her primary research interests are in the expansion and evolution of traditional ballet pedagogy, as well as in fostering positive student experiences within a studio environment via teacher education.
