Pamela Steel

Pamela Steel’s intended area of research is the history and influence of dance instruction and pedagogy in Canada in the early to mid twentieth century. It is a broad area that requires further investigation and focus.

During this period there existed a constellation of Canadian dance instructors devoted to learning and the success of their students. Through collaboration, the instructors formed a network of teachers, dancers, choreographers and other professionals that enriched the experiences of their young students and fostered an artistic community.
